Juno Task

Our task was to film and edit our own version of the opening scene of the movie Juno.
The groups roles
Acting and editing- Kayleigh Harris (Me)
Camera-Kirsty Clarke
Props and Production- Laura Harris and Grace Bovan
Locations
Werrington centre- We used this area because it was the closest area that had shops and the shops were very similar to those seen in the opening of Juno.
Cuckoos Hollow/Lakes/Underpass- We chose to use these areas because of the lack of people walking through them. This prevented any continuity errors and stopped us from having to work around people who would have walked into shot.
Housing area- We used this area because it is close to the other locations we shot in. This was very useful because it meant that we didn't have to waste time travelling from one area to another. It was also very quiet during that time of day which prevented anything from distracting the audience and interfering with the overall product.
Props/Outfit
  • Orange juice and carton
  • Red cardigan
  • Black converse shoes
  • Jeans

We used these props because they are very similar to those that are used in the real production of Juno.

Evaluation

During the filming of Juno several problems arose that were out of our control. The lighting was a minor problem because throughout filming the sun, which we were using as our only light source, kept going in and out of the clouds. This cause problems with continuity as in some parts of the film the character was walking in light and in others she was walking in the shade cast by the sun behind clouds. Another problem we faced was that re shooting was needed in some shots, however due to weather conditions and that fact that it snowed for two weeks, we were unable to re shoot in the time we were given. We therefore had some scenes which lasted longer that they were originally intended to. This was because we had to fill time which would have been used by other shots, but unfortunately they were unsuitable for this film due to continuity errors, e.g. a change in lighting.
